This has always been a critical passageway from Sichuan to Yunnan since ancient times. On one side are cliffs hundreds of meters high, and on the other side is a less steep pass, highlighting the strategic importance of this pass in ancient times. Today, a highway, national road, railway, and waterway still converge here.
