Although Yamdrok Lake is relatively close to Lhasa, it is not very suitable as the first stop after departing from Lhasa.

After all, it is over 4,400 meters above sea level here. When you arrive during the day, you may not feel any discomfort, and the excitement of seeing such scenery can lead to more physical activity. However, you may experience altitude sickness at night.

It is recommended to first go to Shigatse for a round trip from Lhasa and adapt for a couple of days before going above 4,000 meters altitude.
