I have to say that Mt. Kailash is indeed very recognizable.

Unfortunately, when we arrived the night before, the mountain was obscured by clouds and mist, which only cleared the next day.

I have to complain about the small town of Darchen at the foot of the mountain. This town exists solely for the purpose of trekking and tourism around Mt. Kailash. The prices of the hotels are high and the quality is poor. The facilities in the town are also incomplete. The altitude here is extremely high, and when we went to the town clinic to get oxygen due to altitude sickness, we discovered that each session cost 160 yuan. The doctor told us that there is no oxygen production station here; almost all supplies are transported from Shiquanhe, making them especially expensive. We had no choice but to forgo the oxygen.

If time permits, I recommend driving an extra few dozen kilometers to stay in the county seat of Pulan, where the conditions and amenities should be significantly better.
