Lenghu Old Base

Here is the base established earliest by the Petroleum Administration Bureau, hence the name. It is located to the north of No. 4 and 11 kilometers from No. 4. This is the machinery repair, auto repair, and automobile transportation base of the Petroleum Administration Bureau, which was founded in the spring of 1956. Before 1958, it was also a tent city. After 1958, a batch of adobe buildings was gradually built, and after the 1970s, a batch of brick-wood structure offices and dormitory areas were built. In 1982, the machinery repair factory erected an office building. The old base has two streets running east-west and north-south, and is equipped with shops, a bank, a grain station, a post office, and a cinema. The town covers an area of about 1.2 square kilometers, and the population was 5525 in 1990. Due to its location beside the road from Dunhuang to Qinghai, it attracts quite a few tourists.

Currently, a sign stands marking it as the Lenghu Petroleum Base Ruins.
